  • Beginner Class

This beginner class introduces English starting from the alphabet and focuses on developing reading and oral speaking skills. Students will begin by learning to pronounce individual letters and basic sounds, gradually building their confidence in speaking. The course includes practicing simple phrases like greetings, common questions, and everyday expressions to enhance conversational skills. As students become more comfortable, they will learn elementary vocabulary related to daily activities, numbers, colors, and common objects.

The first few classes are dedicated to mastering pronunciation, emphasizing clear articulation of sounds and word stress. As the course progresses, students will delve into foundational grammar, exploring the roles of nouns, verbs, and adjectives in simple sentences. Through interactive exercises and engaging activities, students will learn to construct basic sentences, enhancing both their reading comprehension and speaking fluency. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the tools to communicate simple ideas and express themselves in everyday contexts.

  • Hybrid

The Beginner English class is designed as a hybrid program, providing flexibility to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules. You can choose to attend classes in person, where you can interact directly with instructors and peers, or participate remotely through Zoom, which offers the convenience of learning from the comfort of your home.

  • Advanced Class

The Advanced English Class places a strong emphasis on fostering meaningful discussions and encouraging students to respond thoughtfully to English questions. This class is primarily discussion-based, creating an interactive environment where students can actively engage with their peers and instructors. The curriculum focuses on critical thinking, articulation of ideas, and refining communication skills in English.

Ballot Question English Class

With the upcoming election just two weeks away, both the Beginner and Advanced English classes, held in-person and online, had the incredible opportunity to meet Town Selectboard Member Benttencourt. During a Q&A panel session, he walked the class through the process of filling out ballots and explained specific ballot questions that would impact town regulations. The elder immigrants thoroughly enjoyed learning about the U.S. political system and gained insight into the upcoming presidential election in November.
