Specialized Unit: Elections & Ballots with Town Selectboard Member
With the upcoming election just two weeks away, both the Beginner and Advanced English classes, held in-person and online, had the incredible opportunity to meet Town Selectboard Member Benttencourt. During a Q&A panel session, he walked the class through the process of filling out ballots and explained specific ballot questions that would impact town regulations. The elder immigrants thoroughly enjoyed learning about the U.S. political system and gained insight into the upcoming presidential election in November 2024.

Specialized Unit: Fencing National Champion
The in-person elderly immigrant class met Dr. Fritz Zhang, a fencing instructor with over 50 years of experience. He won 1st Place in the U.S. Gold Championship (80-year-old age group) and 3rd Place in the "World-Class" competition (70-year-old age group). Originally from Beijing, China, Dr. Zhang immigrated to the U.S. to pursue fencing, showcasing resilience and adaptability. His dedication proves that passion and perseverance have no age limits.
