Hi, I’m Daniel Chen, the Lead In-Person English Teacher. At Heritage Bridges, I teach Sunday classes for elderly community members, and this is my third year with the program. I help design the curriculum, create lesson slides, and develop interactive activities to make learning both engaging and practical. My interest in teaching English comes from personal experience. Through working at my family’s restaurant, I’ve interacted with many older Chinese immigrants who struggle with everyday English. I’ve also seen my own grandparents face similar challenges after moving to the U.S. These experiences have helped me better understand their needs and motivated me to focus on teaching useful, real-life English that can truly make a difference in daily life.

Hi, my name is Emma and I am a Chapter Lead based in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a student in high school who is passionate about storytelling, media, and culture connections. My participation in DLI has helped me gain more respect for the language as a link rather than as a mere tool that needs to be learned.
